Stacking cashback means using more than one cashback method on the same purchase. It’s completely legitimate and one of the smartest ways to save money. Here’s how to do it.
The Cashback Stack
The ideal stack looks like this for an online purchase:
Step 1: Voucher code — Find a discount code for the retailer (try VoucherCodes, HotUKDeals, or the retailer’s own newsletter).
Step 2: Cashback site — Click through from TopCashback or Quidco before you buy. This gives you a percentage back on your purchase.
Step 3: Airtime Rewards — If you’ve linked your card, you’ll automatically earn phone bill credit too.
Step 4: Credit card rewards — Pay with a rewards credit card for an extra layer of cashback or points.
That’s four layers of savings on a single purchase. None of them conflict with each other.
For Grocery Shopping
The grocery stack works differently:
Step 1: Supermarket loyalty card — Always scan your Clubcard, Nectar card, etc.
Step 2: Receipt scanning apps — Submit your receipt to Jam Doughnut, CheckoutSmart, and Shopmium (yes, the same receipt works for all three).
Step 3: Airtime Rewards — Automatic phone bill credit if you pay by linked card.
Common Mistakes
- Don’t clear your cookies between clicking through a cashback site and completing your purchase
- Don’t use a cashback site’s click-through AND a voucher site’s click-through — pick one
- Don’t forget to check which cashback site has the highest rate before buying
